Bleach: Twist of the Pendulum

The year 2545 A.D. The mankind has gone through series of social and global changes. After World War 3, our known civilication was destroyed, shifting us back to the levels of medieval times. It seems that due to the downfall of their civilization, mankind has become spiritually aware and reiatsu-sensitive. The presence of shinigamis, hollows and other spiritual beings is now known to the public.

Even the Soul Society did not remain intact. The Gotei 13 ceased to exist and was split into 4 smaller shinigami associations: Gotei Kouketsu, Omnitsukido, Gotei 6 and Gotei Kemono.

Gotei Kouketsu was created by Kuchiki Byakuya and it mostly consists of representatives of the four noble houses. Gotei Kouketsu is known for their member’s noble blood and high economical advantages – it has more resources than the other three associations. Currently their military consists of 7 military divisions with 6 captain level shinigami amongst their ranks. Nowadays the organisation is led by the last successor of the Kuchiki clan – Hina Kuchiki.

When the captain of the second Gotei 13 division, Soi Fon decided to deflect from Gotei, the Omnitskido followed, becoming an independent faction. These infamous assassins and masters of unconventional warfare haven’t changed much throughout the time. Unlike other shinigami clans they wear ninja outfits. Currently their ranks include 4 captain level assassins, each leading a division with countless subdivisons. They all are followed by the current successor of the former grandmaster of assassinations – Ayasaki Fon.

The Gotei 6 is the remnant of the original Gotei 13. They have 6 divisions with 6 captains and the Kido corps is still under their command. The current commander-general is the famous Toshiro Hitsugaya, who is praised as the most gifted shinigami amongst the past and present generations.

The Gotei Kemono mostly consists of former members of the 11-th division of the original Gotei. They are considered brainless barbarians by the other factions as they are quite violent and twice as savage. Sometimes they are not recognized as one of the shinigami clans, but as bunch of barbarians and drunkards. Despite those stories, they are still respected and feared since some consider them to be the strongest shinigami clan. They have no divisions and no captains although quite some of them are easily captain class fighters. Their current leader is Natsume Ayasegwa.

Rumor has it that there is another shinigami clan that consists of young shinigami who have learned to use hollow powers – a skill that had been forgotten long ago.

The realations between the four shinigami clans are rather cold. They have not declared war but they tend to be quite competitive and blunt towards eachother. They rarely cooperate and spy on eachother.

The arrancars, for the contrary, are united under a single banner. They have developed their own state in Hueco Mundo, thus governing most of that place. They are despised by the hollows and the Vasto Lordes have declared war on them. The arrancar society is cruel and brutal, but they are intelligent enough to stay united. They worship an anicent artifact called Hougyoku and the areas around their capital, Las Noches, are filled with shrines in honor of their father – Aizen Sousuke.

Despite the overwhelming odds of fate, the Quincy clan managed to survive and they have grown. They have stopped the reckless slaughter of hollows – now they know what can happen if they get carried away. Once more powers have reached new peaks and even shinigami clans have to recognize them.

Nobody can foresee the future event. As the tentions between shinigami clans increase, the arrancars prepare to make their move. The role of the Quincy clan is unpredictable and the mysterious shinigami with hollow powers only add more stress to the situation. In time we will learn the truth of the events about to occur.
